Terms

Relationship help, not replacement relationships.

Use Companion to remember people, dates, promises, and practical context. You remain the person in the relationship. These terms are the agreement between you and us.

Last updated 1 August 2026

1. This agreement

Companion is operated by COMORA PTY LTD, a company registered in Australia. By using Companion you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

These terms should be read with our privacy policy, which forms part of this agreement.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or over to use Companion. By using it you confirm that you are. You must also be permitted to use Telegram in your country.

3. What Companion is

Companion is a private relationship assistant that lives in Telegram. It helps you remember people, dates, promises, and practical context, reminds you when something matters, and drafts messages for you to send yourself.

Companion is not, and must not be relied on as:

  • therapy, counselling, or mental health treatment;
  • medical, legal, or financial advice;
  • emergency support or a crisis service;
  • conflict mediation;
  • a substitute for direct human contact.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or a trusted person now. Companion cannot help in an emergency and does not monitor for them.

4. It never sends anything for you

Companion remembers, reminds, and drafts. It does not message another person on your behalf, ever. It does not impersonate you or anyone else. It does not log a real-world interaction as having happened unless you confirm it did.

Every draft it produces is handed to you. You decide what to send, when, and to whom, and you are responsible for what you send.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for what you tell Companion, including what you record about other people. When you store information about someone else, you confirm that you are entitled to hold it and that you are using it for the ordinary purpose of maintaining your own relationship with that person.

You must not use Companion to:

  • stalk, monitor, track, or surveil anyone;
  • build a profile of a person for any purpose other than your own relationship with them;
  • deceive, impersonate, coerce, manipulate, or harass anyone;
  • infer hidden emotional meaning, intent, or private characteristics about another person;
  • store information about a person who has asked you to stop, where you have no lawful reason to continue;
  • break the law, infringe someone’s rights, or breach Telegram’s terms.

You are responsible for keeping your Telegram account secure. Anyone with access to it has access to your Companion memory.

6. Your content

What you tell Companion stays yours. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, process it through the providers described in our privacy policy, and return it to you as reminders and drafts. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not use your content to train AI models, and our AI provider is contractually prohibited from doing so.

7. AI output and accuracy

Companion’s replies, summaries and drafts are generated by a language model. They can be wrong, out of date, or misremembered. Check anything that matters before you rely on it, and read every draft before you send it.

Reminders depend on your device, your network and Telegram. Do not use Companion as the only safeguard for something you cannot afford to miss.

8. Beta service and availability

Companion is in private beta and is currently free. Features may change, break, or be removed. We do not guarantee that the service will be available, uninterrupted, or error free, and we may suspend it for maintenance.

If we introduce paid features in future, we will tell you before you are charged anything.

9. Suspension and ending your account

You can stop at any time. Use /delete_me in Telegram, or see data deletion.

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, particularly the acceptable use rules above, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your information first.

10. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee can be limited, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

11. Disclaimers and liability

Subject to section 10, Companion is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we exclude all warranties not expressly set out in these terms.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss arising from a message you chose to send, a reminder that did not arrive, or a detail Companion recorded incorrectly. Our total liability to you in connection with Companion is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which during the free beta is nil.

12. Telegram and other services

Companion runs inside Telegram, which is operated independently of us. Your use of Telegram is governed by Telegram’s own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for Telegram’s availability, security, or handling of your messages.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in Telegram before it takes effect. Continuing to use Companion after that means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts.
